چکیده
How sex-related root traits and soil microbes their interactions respond to drought remains unclear. Here, we investigated how fine the composition of rhizosphere microbial communities in Populus euphratica females males concert 17-year-old plantations. Females increased specific length (SRL) response drought. However, showed no changes roots but significant increases arbuscular mycorrhizal hyphal biomass population Gram-negative bacteria rhizosphere. Also, fungal symbiotroph associated with systems differed from those under We further demonstrated that Gram-positive ratios positively correlated SRL, while fungi were negatively correlated. Meanwhile, relative abundance symbiotrophs was saprotroph Nevertheless, carbon content (RCC). These findings indicate responses depend highly upon sex plant group are related trait adjustments This discovery also highlights role plant-microbial ecosystems P. forest

Genome-wide characterization of new and drought stress responsive microRNAs in Populus euphratica
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small, non-coding RNAs that play essential roles in plant growth, development, and stress response. Populus euphratica is a typical abiotic stress-resistant woody species. This study presents an efficient method for genome-wide discovery of new drought stress responsive miRNAs in P. euphratica. High-throughput sequencing of P. euphratica leaves found 197 conserved miRNAs ...

متن کاملPlant-microbe rhizosphere interactions mediated by Rehmannia glutinosa root exudates under consecutive monoculture
Under consecutive monoculture, the biomass and quality of Rehmannia glutinosa declines significantly. Consecutive monoculture of R. glutinosa in a four-year field trial led to significant growth inhibition. Most phenolic acids in root exudates had cumulative effects over time under sterile conditions, but these effects were not observed in the rhizosphere under monoculture conditions. It sugges...

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Populus euphratica is a light-demanding species ecologically characterized as a pioneer. It grows in shelter belts along riversides, being part of the natural desert forest ecosystems in China and Middle Eastern countries. It is able to survive extreme temperatures, drought and salt stress, marking itself out as an important plant species to study the mechanisms responsible ...
متن کاملDrought inhibits photosynthetic capacity more in females than in males of Populus cathayana.
We investigated sex-related photosynthetic responses to drought in the dioecious species, Populus cathayana Rehd. Plants were subjected to two watering regimes (100% and 30% of field capacity) in a semi-controlled environment. Drought significantly decreased leaf area (LA), total number of leaves (TNL), specific leaf area (SLA), relative water content, net photosynthetic rate (P(n)), transpirat...
